The Hamilton Heights girls cross country team won the Charger Classic on Thursday.
The Huskies scored 39 points, well ahead of runner-up Rensselaer Central’s 91. Heights also had the individual champion: Sophomore Maria Mitchell placed first in a time of 19:52.
All of the Huskies’ top seven runners finished in the top 21. Abby Roth took sixth (21:17) and Abby Christianson placed ninth (22:04). Also running were Chloe Henderson (11th, 22:23), Morgan Guthrie (12th, 22:39), Victoria Lopez (18th, 23:17), Alex Lopez (21st, 23:42), Molly Hilarides (26th, 23:56), Jenna Tomaszewski (35th, 24:31), Madison Dotlich (40th, 25:07), Hayden Hough (53rd, 26:58), Isis Dillman (67th, 28:48), Allyson Dinwiddie (75th, 29:36) and Ellianna Watson (82nd, 31:53).
Sheridan’s Alexis Weiss finished 19th in a time of 23:20. Brianna Hunter placed 71st in 28:59.
In the boys race, Heights placed second with 70 points, behind only Seeger’s 46 points. Preston Miller finished sixth for the Huskies in a time of 18:32, with Price Knowles taking 10th in 18:52.
Other runners for Heights were: Landon Hurley (14th, 19:17), Landon Steele (18th, 19:31), Clayton Forrer (22nd, 19:57), Drew Monnin (50th, 21:23), Alec Pasalich (54th, 21:37), Caleb Hurley (62nd, 22:21), Jade Zachary (75th, 23:14), Chandler Thomas (93rd, 25:07) and Evan Hall (103rd, 29:24).
Sheridan’s Luke Poprik took 53rd in 21:36, followed by Taylor Jacobs (70th, 22:48) and Eli Garner (95th, 25:22).
