The Noblesville Chamber seeks to encourage employers to consider offering teens and young adults their first work expertise through summer employment. The Chamber has set a goal of 200 first-time job experiences for high school students by Aug. 1.
To aid employers in this effort, the chamber is hosting a “Youth Employment Benefits All” luncheon Wednesday, April 26, featuring Indiana’s Director of Hour, Wage, and Child Labor Michael Myers along with several other speakers who will explain financial incentives and other benefits of hiring youth. The luncheon is open to all employers in Hamilton County. According to Noblesville Chamber President Bob DuBois, this initiative is ‘just another logical step in Noblesville’s efforts to prepare our future workforce with 21st century skills’.
A little over four years ago, the Noblesville Schools launched a very successful high school internship program which now sees 200+ students working throughout the school year in 85 area businesses and organizations.
In 2015 the City, Schools, and Chamber launched a community wide education efforts focusing on soft skills which is now used as a model for several communities around the nation.
