New ‘Yee-haw for Youth’ barn party set for next Saturday in Noblesville

Noblesville Youth Assistance is kicking off a new annual event to raise money for the critical resources that serve local children. The western-themed, adults-only Yee-haw for Youth barn party will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Stonycreek Farm, 11366 State Road 38 East, Noblesville.

“Thanks to the generosity of our title sponsor, Gaylor Electric, we can serve up a great time for an even greater cause helping local youth,” said Matt Nelis, president of the local chapter’s board of directors. “It’s important to us that Yee-haw for Youth will be a one-of-a-kind fundraiser that is uniquely Noblesville. We want people to look forward to coming out for the barn party each and every year because it’s fun and it offers a chance to give back to our community.”

Attendees are encouraged to dress for the occasion; jeans and other casual western attire are recommended. Activities include dinner and drinks, live music, bonfires, games such as horseshoes, cornhole toss and pedal cars that look like adult-sized tricycles to race around Stonycreek’s paved track. Hayrides will take guests around the beautiful 1860s-era, 50-acre rolling farmland and woods.

Serving as the master of ceremonies for the evening is Dan Spehler, Fox 59 evening news anchor and host of IN Focus, an Emmy-award winning political news program airing Sunday mornings.

Revenue from ticket sales, sponsorships and donations raised at the event will go to support Noblesville Youth Assistance, whose early intervention advocates work with local families and their children ages 3 to 17. NYA coordinates resources that provide food and clothing, one-on-one tutoring and mentoring, mental health counseling, recreational opportunities and other services.

New for 2018, NYA and its partners served 9,600 summer lunches to children in Noblesville who otherwise might not have known where their next meal was coming from.

“By attending or sponsoring Yee-haw for Youth, your support will go a long way to help fill the gaps that we have locally while you enjoy a fun evening with your friends and co-workers,” said Nelis.
