History on Wheels rolls into Atlanta next month . . .

The Indiana Historical Society (IHS) is proud to announce History on Wheels is rolling in to Atlanta for the New Earth Festival. The 53-foot double expandable semi-trailer and traveling exhibit will be free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23.

Aboard History on Wheels, IHS’s Auto Indiana exhibit will take guests on a ride through the state’s rich automotive and racing heritage. The exhibit touches on the history of more than 100 Indiana automakers and manufacturers, such as Duesenberg, Gibson and Studebaker. The exhibit also delves into the lives of Hoosier innovators and inventors, such as Carl Fisher, Elwood Haynes and Ralph Teetor.

History on Wheels is supported by Lilly Endowment Inc., Jiffy Lube of Indiana and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and fueled by CountryMark. The visit to Atlanta is made possible by Hamilton County Commissioner Mark Heirbrandt.

“The Atlanta New Earth Festival is proud to present History on Wheels as part of our great event,” said Heirbrandt. “We hope everyone will join us for this free exhibit showcasing the rich history of automobiles in the state of Indiana.”

Festival guests will find the mobile museum in Dolles Park, just south of Main Street in Atlanta. Click here for more information on the Atlanta New Earth Festival.
