Ryan Oliver Hughey, 47, Carmel, passed away on August 24, 2018. He was born on May 8, 1971, son of Robert and Dallana Page Hughey.
Ryan received Christian baptism at the age of 15 at Hope Church in Indianapolis. He achieved the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Ryan was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was trained as an Emergency Medical Technician and served as a Naval Hospital Corpsman from 1990 to 1994.
Ryan loved music. He attended countless musical shows and festivals. Those that know him know that he was a brilliant karaoke singer. His smooth voice and dynamic personality made him a karaoke master. He was also an avid vinyl collector. He collected nearly 7,000 records and could tell you about each one individually.
Survivors include his parents; brothers, Brandon (Anne) and Clinton (Shawna); sister, Sarah; and seven nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at Hope Church, 2500 E. 98th St., Indianapolis where the Celebration of Life service will begin at 3 p.m.
