Virginia Ann Sherley

May 10, 1927 – August 25, 2018

Virginia Ann Sherley, 91, Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. She was born on May 10, 1927 to Roland and Juanita (Markle) Castor in Noblesville.

Virginia drove a school bus for Carmel Schools and was a homemaker who also worked at the Noblesville Laundromat, Franklin Ice Cream Store, Firestone and the Noblesville Post Office. She was a member of Noblesville First Church of the Nazarene where she was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years and organized funeral dinners. Previously, Virginia taught Sunday School at Gray Friends Church. She was an avid gardener who loved flowers and plants, and a wonderful cook who enjoyed canning. Most of all, Virginia loved her family and always put others before herself.

She is survived by her children, Vicki (Kent) Clark, Michael Lee (Pam) Sherley and Beth (Dennis) Grote. She raised her grandson, Andrew Sherley; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Janisse, Stephanie Thomas and Brooke Runyon. Virginia is also survived by six additional grandchildren, six additional great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jack Sherley; grandson, Jeffery Runyon; and brother and sister-in-law, Max and Rosemary Castor.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the funeral home, with Pastor Jesse Garner and Rev. Robert L. Donham officiating. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
