Girls soccer: University scores early, often in beating Scecina

The University girls soccer team scored a 5-0 win over Scecina on Thursday.
Senior Lily Snyder scored the Trailblazers’ first goal early in the game, and totaled two goals and one assist for the night. Senior Halle Von Ah also scored two goals, and her classmates Lucy Snyder and Lillian Klemsz both had one assist.
Sophomore Sydney Williams scored University’s last goal of the game with a breakaway. Junior Lilly Fair earned the shutout, with help from seniors Hallie Harrison, Lucy Snyder, Brooke Andrus and Lydia Copeland and freshmen Sydney Epstein and Olivia Morrison.
The ‘Blazers will play at Pioneer Conference opponent Muncie Burris on Saturday.

Fishers improved to 2-0 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference play with a 1-0 victory over Class 3A No. 13 Zionsville on Wednesday.
Junior Lauren Arnett scored the 3A No. 17 Tigers’ goal off of a cross from junior Ellen Stump in the 45th minute. Fishers was able to secure a victory thanks to outstanding efforts from its goalkeepers, junior Kaitlyn Hick and sophomore Jordan Imes. Senior Maya Turner, junior Kaysey Castro, and senior Dianna Rollag had strong defensive efforts.
