Cross country: Noblesville girls win for second time in four days

The Noblesville girls cross country team won its second invitational in four days on Saturday, taking the Plainfield Relays.
The Millers edged out Pike 58-62 to win the team trophy. The race format was one pair of runners running six total miles, three for each runner in the pair. Runners would alternate one mile at a time. The Noblesville pair of Taylor Gregory and Bella Sharples-Gordon finished third, with Sophie Reichard and Aubrie Deal taking fourth, and Madison King and Aubrey Swart placing fifth.
The Millers also won the team title in the open 3200 race, dominating with 22 points. Noblesville swept the top three individual places: Taylor Gossard won the race, with Katherine Sandys second and Chloe Click third.

Westfield competed in the boys edition of the Plainfield Relays, placing third in a close race. Cathedral won with 56 points, Avon placed second with 57, and the Shamrocks scored 59.
Max Gutwein and Noah Douthit teamed up for a seventh-place individual finish.
Westfield won the open 3200 race, scoring 25 points. Mahamat Djour was the individual champion, with Josh Springborn taking second.

The Noblesville and Fishers boys teams were both champions at the Zionsville Invitational, which took place at Graham Martin Park in Indianapolis.
The Millers finished first in the freshman/sophomore race, scoring 36 points. Travis Hickner was the individual winner, leading a pack of four Noblesville runners to place in the top 10. The Tigers were second, with Will Clark taking second individually.
Fishers dominated the junior/senior race, scoring 28 points to easily win the team trophy. Ethan Meyer finished as the individual champion, with three other Tigers landing in the top seven. Noblesville finished fifth as a team, with Justin Amburgy taking 10th individually.

In the girls competition, Westfield took third and Fishers was fourth in the freshman/sophomore race. Two Tigers runners placed in the top five: Vera Schafer was second and Elizabeth Barrett fifth. Julia Clark led the Shamrocks by taking 11th place.
Fishers placed second in the junior/senior race, with Fishers taking fifth. Debbie Shera placed 10th individually for the Tigers, while Sydney Clifford was 11th for the Shamrocks.

Hamilton Southeastern hosted its Hokum Karem on Saturday.
The Royals girls team won by scoring nine points. Jenna McLean and Lulu Black placed second. In the boys race, the Royals were edged by Pendleton Heights 14-16 for the team trophy. Will Tuckis and Grant Wilson led HSE by taking fourth.
Southeastern swept the junior varsity races, with the girls scoring a perfect 15 points and the boys winning with 16 points. Nolan Satterfield won the boys race, while Jehnea Mirro took second in the girls race.

The Golden Eagles’ Quinn Gallagher won the boys race, while Ellie Schroeder led the GC girls by taking third. Guerin’s Landon Swift won the junior varsity boys event. Allison Wozniak was the top Golden Eagles runner in the girls JV race, taking eighth.

The Greyhounds scored a perfect 15 points in the senior/junior race, with Phoebe Bates the individual winner. Carmel took the freshman/sophomore race by scoring 18 points; Brooke Waldal was the individual champion.
The Greyhound boys team placed third in both events. Will Anderson was third individually in the freshman/sophomore race, while Bingham Hudson took 11th in the senior/junior race.
