The Hamilton Heights girls soccer team opened its season Monday by beating Western Boone 8-0.
Elaina Page led the Huskies with four goals and two assists. Jenna Peterson added two goals. Kendall Ferguson scored a goal and assisted on another one. Katy Berry scored a goal, with Amanda Irwin making one assist.
Goalkeepers Alyssa Irwin and Tessa Harr combined for five saves and the shutout.
University also got a big opening win on Monday, defeating Greenwood Christian Academy 13-0.
Junior Tessa Hudson was the leading scorer for the Trailblazers with four goals and two assists. Senior Lily Snyder added three more goals and two assists to the University victory and senior Halle Von Ah had two goals.
Seniors Kenzie Allen and Lucy Snyder each had one goal, as did and juniors Lilly Fair and Annie Klemsz. Senior Lillian Klemsz, sophomore Elena Cacucci, and freshman Olivia Morrison each made one assist on the night. Fair and freshman Abby Hannon shared minutes in goal and each had one save.
The Trailblazers travel to Greenfield-Central Thursday night.
Noblesville opened its season on Monday by hosting Cathedral, playing the Irish to a 1-1 tie.
The Class 3A No. 3 Millers scored in the 50th minute of the game, with Carly Hudnall putting in the assist from Makenna Malloy. Cathedral answered with the tying goal in the 52nd minute.
Noblesville’s junior varsity team won 3-0. Sophie Brisco, Abby Baker and Paige Smucker all scored a goal for the Millers.
Sheridan dropped its opener at Rossville on Tuesday by the score of 4-2.
