Fishers pulled away from Hamilton Southeastern in the late innings of the third game of the Mudsock series Saturday to win 6-3.
With the victory, the Class 4A No. 2 Tigers won the series 2-1, and thus earned themselves the Mudsock Trophy. Fishers is now 5-1 in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference as well.
The Tigers led 3-0 midway through the fourth inning, but the 4A No. 3 Royals tied the game up in the bottom half of the fourth. Fishers immediately responded with two runs in the top of the fifth.
Luke Duermitt and Andy Bennett each had two hits, with Duermit hitting a double and totaling two RBIs. Kiel Brenczewski, Brendan Toungate and Matthew Wolff all had one double. Luke Albright pitched six innings for the win, striking out six.
Jacob Daftari batted in two runs for HSE. Sam Bachman threw four innings, totaling seven strikeouts.
