Charlene L. (Moreland) Inman, 79, Sheridan, passed away on July 31, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Charlene was born on February 9, 1939 to the late Charles and Marie (Hammack) Moreland in Indianapolis.
Charlene was a graduate of Sheridan High School. After graduating, Charlene attended college where she studied Hospitality. Darlene was employed by the Holiday Inn in downtown Indianapolis where she retired as a Catering Banquet Manager. Charlene worked at the K.V. Elliott American Legion Post 67 in Sheridan as a bartender and a bookkeeper. Charlene married Vernon Inman in April 1955 and were married for 39 years. Vernon preceded Charlene in death in 1994.
Charlene loved her country and was proud member of the K.V. Elliott American Legion Post 67 women’s auxiliary. Charlene was a lifelong member of the Sheridan First Christian Church, and she served her church as the Vacation Bible School director.
Charlene met the second love of her life, Don Christy. They were at each other sides for a wonderful 23 years. Charlene looked forward to spending time with Don as they rode around Sheridan in their golf cart.
Charlene precedes in death her husband, Don, and her two children, Nick Eugene Inman and Julie Ann Inman, both of Austin, Texas. Charlene was a loving step-mother to Darren Christy, Chris (Jennifer) Christy, Shane (Connie) Christy and Tara (Bret) Kellam. Charlene was a proud step-grandmother of six. Charlene is survived in by her brother, Jeff (Susan) Apple, Sheridan; sister, Judy K. (Earl) Pillion, Sheridan; brother in-law, John (Marcia) Christy and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Charlene in death is her grandson, Ryan Nicolas Inman in 2015; her daughter in-law, Margaret Dawn (Nichols) Inman and brother in-law, Ronald Christy.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, where family and friends are invited to gather. Online condolences may be made at fisherfunerals.com.
