The experience of playing the first game of the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association’s North-South All-Star Series turned out to be a short one.
The first game of the three-game series was called off in the fourth inning, with the North team leading the South team 8-4. The series has now been re-scheduled for a doubleheader, which begins at 9 a.m. today in South Bend.
Still, there was some excitement to be had at the game, especially for Hamilton County players. Westfield’s Matthew Meyer hit a two-RBI single for the North team in the first inning. Noblesville’s Tyler Owens scored a run for the South team.
Also playing in the series are Fishers’ Luke Albright and Craig Yoho, Guerin Catholic’s Jake Andriole and Hamilton Southeastern’s Carter Lohman.
