As the co-founders and co-chairs of the Congressional 5G Caucus, Congresswomen Susan W. Brooks (R-Ind.) and Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) recently hosted the 5G Technology Showcase, where several groups – including Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, Aira, CTIA, Samsung, Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm, Eli Lilly, Intel, OneWeb, Traxyl, InterDigital, Promena VR and Harman – displayed how the next generation of wireless is and will continue to revolutionize the country.

“It’s exciting to be living in the Internet of Things era, and I am thrilled so many groups participated in the Congressional 5G Caucus’ Technology Showcase,” said Brooks. “5G has the potential to unleash the power of emerging technologies such as precision agriculture and telemedicine, save lives with enhanced critical public safety communications, enrich education and learning, and transform existing industries such as manufacturing. I am especially proud Indianapolis is a 5G test site because a high-speed internet connection is now crucial to the daily functions of our lives. 5G will boost our economy, create millions of new jobs, and maintain our country’s global leadership.”
5G is the fifth generation of wireless connectivity that will unlock the potential of the expected 20 billion internet of things connected devices. The 5G Caucus was founded as a means to educate members on the importance of 5G technologies, the key role it plays in economic growth and digital innovation, and the role Congress can play to unleash its power in this country.
