Huskies fall to Yorktown

Hamilton Heights’ season came to an end on Tuesday, with the Huskies falling to Class 3A No. 3 Yorktown in the first round of the Heights sectional.
The Tigers scored their run in the second inning. Jessica Kaurich went 2-for-2 at the plate. Huskies coach Landi Lockwood said pitcher Adyson Baber “threw her best game of the season.” Heights also played well defensively.
“We played a really good game on defense tonight but just fell short at the plate,” said Lockwood. “We had a couple of opportunities with runners in scoring position but just couldn’t get that breakout moment we needed.
“I’m really proud of this team for fighting until the last out of the game. We were very young this season starting six underclassmen. They learned a lot, progressed a lot and have great potential to build off of what they accomplished.”
