Nickel Plate Express recently hired Dagny Zupin as the new communications coordinator. Zupin will oversee media outreach and public relations for Nickel Plate Express, a nonprofit set to open in September.

Zupin

As a recent Ball State University graduate, Zupin has a background in public relations and marketing. Specifically, Zupin has a passion for unique tourism experiences in Indiana. Zupin served as Hamilton County Tourism’s marketing intern last year and has worked as the communications intern for Nickel Plate Express for several months.

“I’m excited to continue my work with the Nickel Plate Express,” said Zupin. “Hamilton County is a beautiful area, and I think the attraction will be a great addition to the northern part of the county. I look forward to helping create a unique experience for tourists and the local community.”

Deanna Holt, executive director for the organization, said with Zupin’s prior experience at Hamilton County Tourism, she will bring knowledge and expertise to the new organization.

“She is creative, thoughtful, and responsive – all characteristics we deem necessary to make the Nickel Plate Express a success,” Holt said.

Zupin joins Nickel Plate Express just as rail restoration begins on the track in Atlanta. Excursions are scheduled to begin in September, with ticket sales beginning this summer. Visit nickelplateexpress.com and follow on Facebook for more information.
