Carolyn Jane Baliff

March 18, 1938 – May 19, 2018

Carolyn Jane Baliff, 80, Cicero, died May 19, 2018 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus at Noblesville.

She was born March 18, 1938 at what was known as Big Springs located near Sheridan. She graduated from Kirklin High School with the Class of 1956.

She then married Rex N. Baliff on June 2, 1956 and they began working together on their family farm. Her family noted that she wasn’t a farm wife only, but she actually operated their machinery and worked side by side with her husband. Her husband was also a school bus driver for Noblesville School Corporation and in 1976 she became his substitute driver. In 1998 she became a driver for Noblesville Schools with her own route.

Mrs. Baliff was a member of Hinkle Creek Friends Church. She loved being with her family and their farm life together. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, ceramics, gardening and canning.

Surviving her are three daughters, Dana Hubbard, Muncie; Michele (Dennis) Kinder, Cicero; and Rowena Copeland, Cicero; grandchildren, Laura Clark, Josie (Alex) Small and Chloe Copeland; great-grandchildren, Newton Small and Nora Small; and a brother-in-law, Tom Godby.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Rex N. Baliff, her parents, Walter Keith and Mary Agnes (Harris) Parks, and her sister, Marilyn Godby.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Hinkle Creek Friends Church, 21617 Hinkle Road, Noblesville, with Pastor Robert Stubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Hinkle Creek Friends Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero. Memorial contributions may be made to Hinkle Creek Friends Church.
