American Contracting & Services has been contracted to install bridge deck overlays on six structures on Interstate 465 East and West over Spring Mill Run, US 31 and Williams Creek. The $4.6 million project will remove the existing overlay on the bridges and replace it with modified concrete.
Crews will use weekend lane restrictions to shift traffic through the construction site. Lanes will be reduced to two lanes. Motorists will be shifted to the outside lanes (left lanes and shoulders) during Phase I of construction. Upon the completion of Phase I, traffic will then be shifted to the inside lanes (right lanes and shoulders) for Phase II of construction. Lane restrictions will begin in July.
The project is expected to be completed by this fall. INDOT reminds drivers to pay attention to speed and crews on the construction site.
