Carmel golf wins Crooked Stick Invitational

Carmel won the Crooked Stick Invitational, which took place on Tuesday at the famed golf course in Carmel.
The No. 2-ranked Greyhounds scored 299, six shots ahead of runner-up Westfield’s 305. Luke Prall led Carmel with a score of 72, followed by Nick Dentino’s 75.
Stephen Hildebrand was the low man for the Shamrocks with a 73, followed by Andrew Lewis’ 75.
Seventh-ranked Noblesville carded 317, with Clay Merchent and Jacob Deakyne both scoring 75s for the Millers. Guerin Catholic shot 332; Ty Gingerich scored 76 for the Golden Eagles.

Hamilton Heights beat Western Boone 184-198 in a Tuesday dual meet at Bear Slide Golf Club.
Price Knowles led the Huskies with 44. Hudson Hochstedler shot a 46. Cyle Marcum and Kyle Kirtley rounded out the scoring with a pair of 47s.

The Westfield junior varsity golf team beat Elwood 163-199 on Wednesday.
Freshmen Colin Nixon and Ryan Wilkes led the way with 40. Freshmen Timmy Leonard added a 41 and sophomore Spencer Howe rounded out the scoring with a 42.
The Shamrocks will play in the JV Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship Saturday at Fox Prairie.
