Huskies fall to Lewis Cass
Hamilton Heights dropped a 6-3 Hoosier Conference game at Lewis Cass on Tuesday.
The Huskies scored two runs in the top of the first inning, both from a single by Sam Fulton. Sam Rupe and Evan Warner both got home.
Heights added a run in the fifth inning when Gabe Reel batted in Cobe Koors. That put the Huskies up 3-1, but the Kings took the lead in the fifth inning and kept it from there.
Reel finished the game 2-for-4; both he and Koors hit a double. Fulton pitched the complete game, striking out four.
Heights coach JR Moffatt said his team started strong, but then “sputtered offensively.”
“Our real struggle though was in the field,” said Moffatt. “Too many miscues that put us in difficult situations and Cass was able to get the hits when they needed them. If we are not gonna tighten up defensively it’s gonna be a long stretch here to finish out the year. Sometimes in sports we are guilty of over complicating things….a lot like life. Keeping it simple is better. Catch, throw, hit and run, we have to get better in those pretty simple areas.”
The Huskies are 4-3 in the conference and 8-6 overall. Heights will host Cass at 6 p.m. today to finish the series.

Logan McClurg and Matthew Meyer continued their outstanding seasons so far with big days at the plate.”
