Dear Editor,
My name is Liz Foley Nelson and I am running for a seat on the Jackson Township Board. I read the recent letter from Chief Muszar and I applaud all of the positive things the Fire Department is doing on behalf of the Township.
I do feel what was not said is just as important. The focus was on the relationship between the Jackson Township and Cicero Fire Departments, clearly ignoring the other communities we need to serve. We have over 10,000 residents here in Jackson Township, all of whom should be receiving equal fire and EMT service at a fair cost.
We need to have open communication and cooperation throughout the Township; transparency with all of its Towns and residents. This is what makes communities strong, fosters growth, encourages fiscal responsibility and promotes an environment where our community can thrive.
That is why I am running for the Jackson Township Board. I believe in our Township and feel we can make it even better through improved communication, cooperation and transparency.
Respectfully yours,
Liz Foley Nelson
