Sheridan Education Foundation: supporting the future of education

Founded in 2023, the Sheridan Education Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving student learning and achievement in Sheridan Community Schools (SCS).

The Foundation’s mission is to support innovative programs and activities designed and implemented by educators, administrators, and staff, with the goal of enhancing the classroom experience and fostering greater student engagement.

Through generous donations and fundraising efforts, the Foundation works tirelessly to provide financial resources that enable teachers to create dynamic and engaging learning environments. Since 2023, the Foundation has awarded over $25,000 in teacher grants. These funds have gone directly into classrooms, helping educators enhance their teaching methods and resources to better meet the needs of their students.

The mission of the Sheridan Education Foundation is clear: improve student learning and achievement by supporting SCS staff who create and deliver innovative and engaging programs and activities. These programs are designed to engage students in meaningful ways that promote their academic success, both inside and outside the classroom.

SCS educators are encouraged to apply for grants to fund projects that will enhance their curriculum. The application process is simple and was developed by educators to ensure that funds are directed to projects with the greatest potential for impact. Grants of up to $500 are awarded to eligible educators twice a year, in September and January.

The first round of grants, opened in January 2024, awarded more than $5,000 to educators across the district. These funds have been used to support a wide range of initiatives, from purchasing new classroom materials to developing hands-on projects that inspire student creativity and curiosity.

One of the key ways the Sheridan Education Foundation raises funds is through the Sheridan Jeep Invasion. This exciting event brings together Jeep enthusiasts from across the region to celebrate the power of community and the love for the open road. This year’s event will take place on Aug. 2, and the community is ready to welcome attendees for an unforgettable day of Jeep fun and fundraising.
