Hamilton Heights School Corporation held a special groundbreaking ceremony last week to serve as the official launch of several new construction projects slated to take place at the elementary, middle and high schools.
The event highlighted the community’s tax dollars at work and represents the next round of investment to the corporation through its well-planned Project Vision Comprehensive Facilities Plan designed to create optimal learning environments for Hamilton Heights students and staff.
These projects are being accomplished without raising the district total tax rate of $1.0461 based on current legislation thanks in part to strong fiscal management of past and present school board members and district administration. Project construction began in 2014 and is expected to be complete in 2021.
“This is such an exciting season for the Little Husky Learning Center (LHLC) and the Hamilton Heights School Corporation Community,” said Andrea Griswold, LHLC Director, of the impact of the new addition that is being made possible through Project Vision. “The Little Huskies Learning Center is constantly growing and adapting to meet the needs of the families and students we serve as well as the Heights community. The new wing will provide us with a flexible and fresh canvas to which our program can change and adapt … with continued focus on the students. We are looking forward to making use of every inch of flexible space and continuing to do great things for the young children of this community.”
