The Tipton Main Street Association (TMSA) announced it has received the Indiana Accredited Main Street (IAMS) designation from Indiana Main Street and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA).
This designation reflects TMSA’s commitment to fostering a vibrant downtown and its accomplishments in economic development, historic preservation, and community engagement since its inception in 2017.
TMSA’s performance is evaluated by Indiana Main Street, which works in partnership with Main Street America to identify organizations that meet rigorous performance and accreditation standards. With this accreditation, TMSA gains access to additional grant opportunities, technical assistance, and strategic resources through OCRA to further its mission of enhancing downtown Tipton’s economic and cultural vitality.

“This is a significant milestone for TMSA and the Tipton community,” said Rob Cochrane III, TMSA President and Commercial/Ag Lender with First Farmers Bank & Trust. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our volunteer base and the support of community stakeholders who believe in our mission. We look forward to leveraging this accreditation as we implement transformative projects that make Downtown Tipton a better place to live, work, and thrive.”
“I’m proud of all the hard work and dedication of our current and former Board members who made this possible,” TMSA Vice President Lindsey Ogden said. “These volunteers committed countless hours of their time in pursuit of this accreditation. This accreditation opens the door to new opportunities that will continue to improve and strengthen our downtown and the community we love.”
“As the City of Tipton looks to the future, partnerships are critical to our potential and success,” Tipton City Council President Nathan Kring said. “TMSA has been, and always will be in my opinion, a core component to downtown revitalization and meaningful change. TMSA should be proud of this accomplishment, and I look forward to continued collaboration with such a vital organization full of great volunteers.”

Glynn
“As we celebrate 40 years of Indiana Main Street, we are excited to welcome eight new communities into the program and see seven organizations level up,” OCRA Executive Director Fred Glynn said. “The Indiana Main Street program continues to grow and help communities prioritize downtown revitalization, transform their main street corridors and fuel local engagement. Congratulations to our 15 newly designated main streets organizations!”
TMSA invites the community to celebrate this achievement by continuing to support the local businesses that make downtown Tipton a great place to live, work, and thrive.
