The Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) has announced the recipients of its Spring 2025 Great Idea! Grants, designed to enhance learning in Carmel Clay Schools through innovative educator-led projects.
One standout initiative, Making a Difference in the Lives of Others 2025, led by Carmel High School educators, partners with Soldier’s Angels to provide fleece blankets to military personnel and families. This project fosters both community impact and student engagement, while also providing hands-on learning experiences for students in Basic Skills class, helping them develop vocational and social skills through service-based activities.
Another project, Chat and Chew Book Club at Mohawk Trails Elementary, encourages second and third graders to develop a love for reading in a relaxed environment, building literacy skills and meaningful connections.

“These grants highlight the dedication of our educators and their commitment to student growth,” CEF Executive Director Jennifer Penix said. “We’re honored to support projects that inspire learning and service.”
Great Idea! Grants are made possible through generous community support. Donations help fund future innovative projects that equip educators with tools to inspire students.
