Hamilton County has once again received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its 2023 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. “This award reflects Hamilton County’s unwavering commitment to financial transparency and accountability,” Auditor Todd Clevenger said. “It’s a testament to the dedication of our finance team, elected officials, department heads, and financial advisors at Baker Tilly.”

The GFOA’s rigorous evaluation ensures the county’s financial reporting meets the highest standards, including a constructive spirit of full disclosure that clearly communicates Hamilton County’s financial health. Each year, new government accounting standards raise the bar for compliance, making this achievement even more significant.

“Our success is built on the strong foundation laid by former County Auditors Robin Mills and Dawn Coverdale,” Clevenger added. “While we have earned this recognition consistently, it requires relentless effort and collaboration to maintain these standards.”

This award underscores Hamilton County’s dedication to responsible financial management, ensuring taxpayer dollars are managed efficiently and transparently.
