Jim Grabowski was presented the Bob and Maureen Anderson Community Service Award at the Noblesville Sunrisers Kiwanis meeting on Tuesday. The Sunrisers began sponsoring and presenting this award, named after one of the founding members of the Kiwanis Club, in 2017.

Grabowski is a member of Mended Hearts Chapter 350 in Noblesville and has been for several years. He started a no-cost heart scan program serving first Noblesville and now Westfield residents. To date, over 600 heart scans saving numerous lives have been provided.

Grabowski also volunteers time in Riverview Hospital, often visiting heart patients giving comfort and information to these people.

This year, Grabowski was recognized as Central Region Volunteer of the year by the National Mended Heart Organization. He was then named Divisional Award Volunteer of the year for the United States, followed by the prestigious Volunteer of the Year, which is awarded to only one person in the United States.

Grabowski will also provide transportation to medical appointments if needed. He is a member of the Hamilton County Sheriff Auxiliary and a graduate of the Noblesville Police Citizens Academy. He is a past President of the Noblesville Sunrisers Kiwanis and has worked with the club to support the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club and The Cooper House.
