Huskies get season’s first win

The Hamilton Heights boys golf team beat Clinton Prairie in a Thursday dual meet at Deer Track Golf Course in Frankfort.
The Huskies defeated the Gophers by a score of 202-224. Heights was led by Hudson Hochstedler’s round of 45. Kyle Horton added a 51, while John Thuer contributed a 52. Hawkins Hochstedler rounded out the scoring with a 54.
The Huskies are now 1-1 on the season.

Guerin Catholic’s junior varsity team played two matches this week.
On Wednesday, the Golden Eagles beat Lawrence North 180-242 at Winding Ridge Golf Club. Bryce Smerek led GC with a solid 42, followed by Jack Reitz, Alex Ueber and Michael Peterson all shooting 46. Other scores were Max Amenta 48 and Ben Welch 53.
On Thursday, Guerin fell to Westfield 172-177 at Pebble Brook. The Shamrocks’ Roger Wentz carded a 39 for medalist honors.
Smerek again shot a 42 to lead the Golden Eagles. Other scores were Reitz 44, Welch 45, Amenta 46, Peterson 48, Nick Loub 48, Ueber 52 and Aidan Perhacs 59.
