Junior varsity baseball results

The Fishers freshman baseball team beat Brownsburg in game two of its two-game series 12-6 on Thursday.Both teams came out focused playing a scoreless game through two and a half innings before the Tigers struck in the bottom of the third inning. Matt Bryant and Jack Braun started off the bottom of the third inning with back-to-back singles. Bryant was scored by an Ian Willoughby infield ground ball, while Braun scored soon after via a wild pitch.
The Bulldogs fought back quickly striking with three runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 3-2 lead. They then added one more run in the top of the fifth. With Fishers down 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth, the offense started to apply some pressure to the Brownsburg defense.
The Tigers scored nine runs in their half of the inning. They did this collecting three hits, an RBI double by Evan Carmona, an RBI single by Grant Moritz and a Willoughby single. They also drew three walks, reached base on three errors and stole six bases in the inning to go up 11-4 after five innings.
The Tigers weren’t done there as they added one more run during their frame in the sixth inning when Noah Weathers scored on a passed ball after reaching the base paths by drawing a walk. Brownsburg wasn’t giving up without a fight when they entered their final at-bat down 12-4 as they tacked on two runs, but with strong pitching and a solid defensive effort the Tigers were able to end the game with no further damage done.Zach Pearson earned the victory for the Tigers pitching a complete game, allowing six runs on nine hits with 10 strikeouts and one walk. Braun led Fishers with two hits. Four Tigers had multiple stolen bases, led by Weathers who had three.Fishers hosts North Central this Saturday at home for a doubleheader. First pitch is at 11 a.m.

The Noblesville junior varsity Black team fell to Zionsville 13-9 on Thursday.
After a scoreless first inning, the Eagles scored five runs in the top of the second. The Millers took a 9-8 lead in the fifth inning, but Zionsville scored four in the sixth and would hold the lead from there.
Matt Peek and Alec Rees both hit 3-for-5 for Noblesville; both hit a triple with Peek also getting a double. Camden Nagel and Cameron Leming both had two hits; one of Nagel’s hits was a double. Greg Langlois had a triple. Rees drove in a total of three runs, while Peek scored three times.
Grant Braun threw four strikeouts in four innings.

Westfield’s junior varsity Green team beat Hamilton Southeastern 6-0 on Saturday.
The Shamrocks took control of the game with five runs in the second inning. Andy Manzur, Jack Lawrence and Josh Stegner all had two hits, with Manzur and Parker Bard both batting in two runs. AJ Bunnell scored twice. Stegner had one double.
Mason Cox pitched five innings, striking out five.
