Hamilton Heights dropped a 6-5 game at Tipton in eight innings on Wendesday.
The Huskies led 5-2 through six innings before the Blue Devils scored three in the seventh and the winning run in the eighth.
“We played a pretty good game for six innings tonight, but it is a seven-inning game,” said Heights coach Landi Lockwood.
Taylor Ewing was 2-for-3, smacking a home run and a double to total three RBIs. Aliyah Dorsey hit a double and batted in two runs. Adyson Baber threw five and two thirds innings.
“We had solid pitching, made good plays on defense and scored runs when we had runners in scoring position,” said Lockwood. “In the seventh inning, Tipton started getting some solid back-to-back hits and we had a couple timely misplays that ended up costing us. Ewing and Baber had a great night on defense for us.”
Heights will play at Elwood on Friday.
