Carmel business offering free community shredding, recycling

Get a jump start on your spring cleaning by participating in a full-service Earth Day. If you’re looking for a way to safely shred your old confidential documents, donate household items and recycle electronics in a safe manner all while grabbing a free cup of java, then circle April 21 on the calendar.

Comprehensive Retirement Solutions (CRS) is offering free shredding and recycling from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 in the parking lot of One Penn Mark Plaza, 11595 N. Meridian St., Carmel.

The financial industry produces a massive amount of paper due to industry regulations. After receiving multiple pieces of mail a week, people end up with boxes of papers containing sensitive information. This event is an avenue to have it disposed of properly.

CRS has contracted PROSHRED® Security to destroy your documents as you watch. Once the documents are shredded, the finely diced paper will be recycled. Additionally, in the digital age, confidential information also lives on your personal computer. CRS has partnered with Asset Recovery and Recycling to collect and properly destroy your electronic devices. (Televisions will not be accepted.)

“We take private information very seriously and want to help others do the same. People should take advantage of this free event to destroy any information that could jeopardize their financial future,” said CRS President Michael Fields.

Collecting clothing and household donations by the Good Samaritan Network (GSN). All donations will be distributed in Hamilton County. Tax donation receipts will be provided. For more information gsnlive.org.

Comprehensive Retirement Solutions and CRS Tax Solutions will be providing goody bags to the first 200 cars.
