Jeffrey Hall Salladay, 70, Carmel, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. He was born on February 5, 1954, in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of the late John Roy Salladay and Anita Hall Salladay.

Over his 25-year career in the telecommunications industry, Jeff had leadership roles in the design, development, and commercialization of network innovations and services that constitute the foundation for today’s Internet way-of-life. He received numerous professional awards and participated in several national program management associations. He served as a general program manager for Nokia Siemens Networks, Boca Raton, Fla., until retirement in 2008.

Jeff was a 1971 graduate of Portsmouth High School in Ohio, where he played trumpet in the marching and pep bands. He worked his way through college graduating from Ohio State University with a BS in business administration and computer science.

Following in his dad’s footsteps, Jeff advanced in the Boy Scouts to Eagle and, via experiences at Camp Oyo and Shawnee Forest in southern Ohio, came to love the outdoors leading to his life-long passion for running, bicycling, hiking, canoeing, and scuba diving. He loved traveling to numerous natural preserves around the world and, like his mom, greatly enjoyed music.

Survivors include his brother, John M. Salladay (Betsy Covert) of Carmel; nieces, Jennifer (Chris) Mizell, Ellen Salladay, Margaret (Derek) Webster, and Elizabeth (Jeff) Shepherd, all in central Indiana; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Hannah Mizell (Nick Rivera), Samuel Mizell, Benjamin Mizell, Elizabeth Webster, Johnny Webster, Scarlett Webster, Caroline Shepherd, Sophia Shepherd, Isabelle Shepherd, and Alex Shepherd.

Until 2020, Jeff lived almost 30 years in Boca Raton, Fla. He enjoyed the great benefit of loving caregivers during his health challenges, both in Florida and over the past four years at his residence at Brookdale Carmel.

The family plans a private Celebration of Life Memorial at a future time followed by interment at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, Ohio.
