As the Noblesville Parks Department prepares for its annual bus trips to begin, the deadlines for two new destinations are approaching quickly. This year, the parks department is offering trips to Churchill Downs in Kentucky and a home Cincinnati Reds game against the Chicago Cubs. The deadline to register for either bus trip is Thursday, April 23.
“Our bus trips provide participants a hassle-free, day trip experience,” said Erin Portman, bus trip organizer. “Guests get to hop on a bus without worrying about driving, parking or packing the car. Seats are still available for the upcoming trips, but those interested are encouraged to reserve their spot today.”
- Friday, May 11 – Churchill Downs in Louisville. Visit the “Home of the Kentucky Derby” and place your bets on a winning thoroughbred. Cost is $50 per person and participants must be 21 or older. The bus will leave Forest Park Inn at 9 a.m. and will return at approximately 8 p.m.
- Saturday, June 23 – Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds baseball game. Before seeing the Reds take on the Cubs, take a tour of the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. Cost is $75 per person and includes bus, Hall of Fame Tour and game ticket in Sections 421 and 422 behind home plate at Great American Ball Park. The bus will leave Forest Park Inn at 11:30 a.m. and will return at approximately 9:30 p.m.
As previously announced, additional bus trips are also planned for Shipshewana Flea Market (June 5), Summer in Chicago (July 20), Brown County, Ind. (Oct. 24) and Chicago Christmas Shopping (Dec. 1). Registrations for these trips also are being accepted at this time.
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required and recommended no later than two weeks prior to the trip as long as seats are still available. If the parks department does not have the required number of participants for a trip by the deadline, the trip will be canceled and fees will be refunded. Bus trip fees include transportation to and from trip location only unless otherwise noted.
