Carmel wins three-team county meet

Three Hamilton County boys golf teams played an 18-hole meet Tuesday at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
The Greyhounds won the meet with a team score of 306, followed by Hamilton Southeastern’s 328 and Westfield’s 330. The Shamrocks did have the meet medalist: Andrew Lewis carded a 72.
Carmel was led by Clay Stirsman’s score of 73. Curtis Robertson shot 77, Nick Dentino and Akio Fujita both had 78s, Cole Harris carded a 79 and Luke Prall shot 85.
Daivic Akala led the Royals with a 77. John Cherry scored 82, followed by Mekheil Garcia 84, Sam Smith 85, Sam Crousore 89 and Henry Fitzgerald 94.
Ethan Lutes shot a 79 for Westfield. Other Shamrock scores were Drake Biggs 89, Spencer Howe 90, Stephen Hildebrand 90 and Timmy Leonard 90.
The Greyhounds also won the junior varsity match, shooting 158 to HSE’s 177 and Westfield’s 178.
Carmel’s Jack Crawford was the medalist with a 38, followed by Andrew Harvey’s 39. Other scores were Sam Booth 40, Shoji Fujita 41 and Nick Katsis 48.
