Cicero Library to hold active shooter response program next Tuesday

Sergeant Bill Clifford of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department will offer a response-to-an-active-shooter training at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10 at the Hamilton North Public Library in Cicero. The program is sponsored by the library’s support organization, Friends of the Library, and is open to the public.

Clifford

Clifford has trained law enforcement officers in CRASE (Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events) and ADD (Avoid, Deny and Defend) numerous times. Now he brings this specialized program to the public because knowledge from this training can help citizens protect and defend themselves should such an emergency occur. As the Boy Scout motto says: “Be prepared.” Being prepared means knowing how to respond in the face of a potential or actual active shooter.

Prepare and be empowered: Attend the Active Shooter Program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10 at HNPL – Cicero, 209 W. Brinton St.

Tuesday with Friends events occur on the second Tuesday of the month. Information about this program and various library events is found on the HNPL events calendar and on the HNPL Facebook page.
