The Carmel and Guerin Catholic boys cross country teams finished 1-2 at the Delta Eagle Invitational last Saturday at Taylor University.
The Greyhounds won the team competition with a score of 28 points, while the Golden Eagles totaled 56 points for the runner-up spot. Carmel had three runners place in the top six: Cohen Levy was third in 16 minutes, 20.0 seconds, Zach Flint was fourth (16:21.8), Isaac Perrin finished fifth (16:46.6) and Lucas Mallon took sixth (16:49.3). Eli Gomez finished 10th, clocking in at 16:59.7.
Other Greyhounds runners were: 17. Cameron Scher-Millan 17:14.9, 19. Trevor Walton 17:19.3, 23. Amory Spencer 17:25.2, 25. Josh Cale 17:26.6, 26. Ben Meisner 17:32.0, 27. Zachary Judy 17:39.3, 29. Dominic Riego 17:42.7.
Guerin Catholic had the individual race winner: Luke Moster paced the field with a time of 15:50.1. Other Golden Eagles runners were: 11. Sean Laferriere 17:05.3, 13. Austin Rankin 17:12.2, 15. Ashton Sommer 17:15.6, 16. Luke Ross 17:15.7, 17. Hunter Kinzle-Gorman 17:16.8, 20. William Gebhardt 17:20.0, 22. Cole Eckstein 17:22.9, 40. Gavin Becher 18:11.5, 45. Brady Linn 18:24.6, 49. Andrew Santos 18:33.8, 83. Andrew Cantos 19:23.7.
In the girls race, Guerin Catholic finished a close second. The Golden Eagles scored 55 points, behind only Avon’s 47 points. Two Guerin Catholic runners placed in the top 10: Taylor Tragesser was the individual runner-up in a time of 19:41.6, while Ella Smith finished 10th in 21:09.6.
