Fishers Arts Council (FAC) invites you to take a stroll through picturesque parks, wild countryside, and hidden gems in Indiana and beyond at the Art Gallery at City Hall located in the Fishers Municipal Center, 1 Municipal Drive.
“Scenes from Indiana & Beyond” is on display through Nov. 1 and can be viewed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at the Second Friday free public reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11. Special Saturday gallery hours will be held during Fishers Parks’ Boo Bash event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 with a free cultural enrichment activity focused on Día de los Muertos.
Artists in this exhibit hail from Fishers, Noblesville, Indianapolis, and McCordsville, showcasing a wide range of styles, all reflecting on the beauty of nature. With this exhibit, FAC honors a long-standing relationship with the Fishers Parks Department which began over 20 years ago. A special relationship was forged in 2012 when the Parks Department installed the gallery hanging system inside the old Fishers Town Hall. Now that FAC has returned to the new City Hall, the organization asked the Fishers Parks Department to select its favorite pieces in this exhibit that celebrates the outdoors. This is not a juried exhibit where awards are given, but “Parks Picks” are noted in the gallery next to the department’s favorites.
The following artists are on display in this exhibit: Sara Blalock, Margot Bogue, Stephanie Carignan, Krista Darrow, Shelley Feeney, Timothy Lewis, Laura McCormick, Craig Mullins, Mark Rouse, Karissa Rumsey, Laura Villanyi, Casey Williams, and Ruth Williams.
Join FAC for this free all-ages monthly celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. Second Friday, Oct. 11 at the Art Gallery at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Drive in Fishers. Enjoy live music from Elizabeth Lee, art that wraps you in seasonal joy, refreshments, and FAC’s Focus on the Artist programming at 6:45 p.m. led by board member Pat Grabill, who will interview artists Sara Blalock, Shelley Feeney, Mark Rouse, and Casey Williams.
Lee’s performance is sponsored by a grant from the Fishers Arts + Culture Commission.
