Sheridan got a rebound victory Friday night, coming back to win 21-7 at Delphi in a Hoosier Heartland Conference game.
The Oracles scored a first-quarter touchdown and held that 7-0 lead through halftime. But the Blackhawks held their own during the first half, forcing Delphi into turnovers on downs twice inside the 15-yard line.
Sheridan’s offense got going in the third quarter with two touchdowns on short runs. Alex Cravens took the ball three yards into the end zone midway through the period and Owen Bell ran it in from two yards a few minutes later. Cravens completed the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Bell kicked all three of the Hawks’ extra points, while Landon Moffatt made an interception. Cravens gained 237 yards to lead Sheridan’s rushing, with Jon Barnes totaling 109 yards.
The Blackhawks are 3-1 in the HHC standings and 4-3 overall. Sheridan returns home next Friday to play Eastern in a conference game.
