The intersection of 4th Street SW and Monon Boulevard/Monon Trail will be closed the week of April 2 for two weeks to complete the intersection pavers. The Monon Trail will remain open during this road closure.

This construction is part of the Monon Boulevard project which will expand the roadway and separate it from the Monon Greenway along this stretch, which gets some of its most intense use.

The new Monon Boulevard project will transform the current 12-foot wide path into a multi-faceted 140-foot wide right-of-way section. It will include new dedicated lanes for cycling, buffer zones, sidewalks, green spaces and one-way streets with additional parking on either side of the trail. This project also includes a new outdoor space called Midtown Plaza which will give the community a place to gather and host events at 4th Street SW near the Allied Solutions corporate headquarters and the new Sun King Distillery. Allied is already in their new space along with F.C. Tucker. Sun King is expected to open later this year.
