Sarah Parks-Reese has brought and will continue to bring the experience and dedication necessary for maintaining the strength and continue the excellence of Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) Schools.
During her tenure on the Board of Trustees, Parks-Reese was involved in both helping renew and reduce the rate of HSE’s referendum. She was a consistent voice for all students, with a particular focus on those students in Wayne Township, who are Noblesville residents, as well as those with exceptional needs and other student groups who are underrepresented.
Additionally, Parks-Reese supported the district’s application and award of multiple grants, including the 3E Grant (Education, Employment, and Enlistment) which engaged The Ford NGL model to mobilize educators, employers, students, parents, and community leaders to prepare our students for employment, post-secondary enrollment in a two-year or four-year school, or enlistment in the armed services after graduation. She also supported the application and award of a mental health grant from the U.S. Dept. of Education that allowed HSE to expand services by increasing the number of school counselors by 23 percent, the number of school social workers by 113 percent, and school psychologists by 27 percent across the district.
Finally, Parks-Reese made it a priority to seek out professional development to become a better board member by attending conferences and regional meetings, and because of that, she earned enough points to be recognized with an Exemplary Governance Award Level II (Advanced) distinction for her leadership and commitment to excellence.
Parks-Reese and her family have lived in Noblesville, in the HSE district, for 18 years. She has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Ball State University and has spent 25 years working in early childhood education.
Parks-Reese is passionate about children, teachers, and education, and she is excited about the opportunity to continue to serve the HSE community to keep HSE as one of the top districts in the state.
