“Whether it’s gun reform, the environment, or education and student loans, our kids today need us to hear them. The Student Summit provided a crucial platform for these teens to be heard,” said Dee Thornton.

Attending the event were students from Clay Middle School, Carmel High School, Lawrence High School, Zionsville High School, Noblesville High School and Park Tudor. Throughout the afternoon the group discussed a variety of issues. With the conversation being led by the students, they spoke up on gun reform, government transparency and integrity, health care, immigration and the environment.

“As my campaign moves forward, I want to ensure that I am not only standing up for our community, but sitting down with each and every constituent who wants to make their voice heard. It’s time we had a representative who speaks up for and listens to every person in this District,” said Thornton.
