The Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria team visited schools across central Indiana during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6 to 10) to honor the winners of its “Ce-LOU-Brate” teachers contest.
Two teachers were selected as grand prize recipients. Joseph Knight from Bishop Chatard High School and Michael O’Toole from Carmel High School were awarded ‘Free Pizza for a Year’ from Lou Malnati’s during a presentation at their schools. The pizzeria also provided a $250 catering pizza party package to the two schools.
O’Toole teaches social studies at Carmel High School and was nominated by several students. One student said, “Mr. O’Toole is what I’ve always wanted in a teacher … I’ve tended to notice that his classroom is a large safe space for everyone who knows him, even students who don’t have him for any class. His reputation across the school is probably the most wholesome I’ve seen, and we all call him the world’s smallest celebrity.”
