Noblesville High School had 18 students compete at the DECA state conference this week and five top finishers qualified for international competition in April. DECA is a student organization that prepares emerging business leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Students were required to complete written tests, role-play scenarios, business plans and presentations.
Noblesville High School’s five qualifiers for international competition are as follows:
- Ben Irwin – Principles of Business Management, finished second place in his category
- Eder Muniz – Entrepreneurship Independent Business Plan, finished third place in his category
- Ashlyn Tucker – Sports and Entertainment Marketing, State Champion in her category
- Tyler Marcum – Food Marketing, finished second place in his category
- Spencer Gilbert – Quick Service Restaurant Management, finished third place in his category
Brady Nicholson and Mark Goudy were recently recognized by the national DECA organization as Emerging Leaders. The DECA Emerging Leader Award was presented to only 19 students in Indiana. Brady and Mark qualified based on academic and leadership criteria.
