Hamilton County Tourism to hold eclipse-related webinar for area businesses

Event to discuss logistics, event planning, marketing & safety

As anticipation builds for the total solar eclipse, Hamilton County Tourism is working with local businesses to ensure they’re prepared for April 8. The tourism agency will hold a webinar at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29 covering topics such as staffing, scheduling, special event planning, marketing, and safety.

“We’re expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world,” said Sarah Buckner, head of Hamilton County’s eclipse local organizing committee and assistant director of community engagement for Hamilton County Tourism. “The webinar will suggest ways to navigate the potential surge, plan for the increase in demand, and capitalize on the potential for increased revenue.”

Key speakers will include representatives from Hamilton County Emergency Management, the Hamilton County Health Department, and Hamilton County Tourism.

“We’re hopeful local businesses will see this as an opportunity to shine,” Buckner added. “While also creating memorable experiences for their customers during this once in a lifetime celestial event.”
