Reagan Motsinger of Sheridan, who is studying English education, was one of 23 Grace College juniors and seniors inducted into the Alpha Chi Honor Society last Saturday. These high-achieving students have earned the top 10 percent of grade-point averages across all disciplines at Grace.

Every year, Alpha Chi inducts nearly 11,000 students from across the country.

Alpha Chi is a national honor society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence among college and university students of all disciplines, to encourage a spirit of service and leadership and to nurture the elements of character that make scholarship effective for good. Founded in 1922 and affiliated since 1955 with the Association of College Honor Societies, Alpha Chi is the second oldest and second largest general honor society in the United States.

“As faculty, we look forward to this event every year, as these are students who have really distinguished themselves in academics throughout their time at Grace,” said Dr. Lauren Rich, Alpha Chi faculty sponsor and chair of the Department of Humanities. “Membership in Alpha Chi is an honor signifying students’ hard work, dedication to learning and strong character.”
