Elaine S. Lewis, 72, Fishers, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on March 21, 1945 to the late Elmer W. and Marcella M. (Rehm) Korte in Fort Wayne.
Elaine was a registered nurse early in her career; she then chose to raise her children and care for her family. During this time, she also returned to school where she earned her B.A. in English. Elaine was a member of Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Carmel and active in Indianapolis OASIS. She was an energetic, caring and generous member of her family.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Stephen E. Lewis; daughter, Sarah (Kellard) Townsend; son, Matthew (Esther) Lewis; brother, Alan (Linda) Korte; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 E. Main St., Carmel, with visitation from 5 p.m. to the time of service. Rev. Daniel Schumm will officiate.
Additional services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to the time of service. Rev. Thomas A. Eggold will officiate.
Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary has been entrusted with Elaine’s care.
