Phi Beta Psi Sorority is a national philanthropic organization whose national project is cancer research, however, Indiana State Organization of Phi Beta Psi Sorority offers scholarships to high school seniors or returning adult students who wish to go into Medical Technology, Medical Lab Technology, Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Cytotechnology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
This scholarship is $1,000 per year, awarded for one, two or four consecutive years provided the student continues his or her studies in an approved field and has maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
A new scholarship will be presented each year in April to worthy Indiana residents to further their education in a school of Medical Pathology (ASCP), a school of Lab Technology, a school of X-ray Technology or a school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Students will be asked to sign a written contract that in the event they change their major mid-year, or do not finish the school year, they will reimburse the State Scholarship Program the amount received that year at the minimum rate of $50 per month. In the event the student doesn’t maintain a 3.0 GPA their annual renewal will be forfeited and they must re-apply as a new applicant.
There are three Phi Beta Psi chapters in Hamilton County – Arcadia, Noblesville and Sheridan. There is also a chapter in Tipton. She will send you the information you need or get you in touch with a Phi Beta Psi member at a chapter closest to you. This must be done in a timely manner as the sponsoring chapter must receive the application and attachments by Monday, March 19 for forwarding to the State Scholarship Chair, who must receive all materials by Sunday, April 1.
