Indiana Connections Academy students logged on for 2023-2024 school year

Leading full-time virtual school provides opportunities for students throughout Indiana

More than 4,500 Indiana students started the new school year on Aug. 8 by attending Indiana Connections Academy, a tuition-free full-time public virtual school serving students statewide in grades K-12.

Indiana Connections Academy provides students with the continuous support of highly-skilled teachers and a curriculum that focuses on both academics and helping to build fundamental life skills. This combination fosters an environment for students to gain the confidence they need to thrive in today’s modern world.

“The start of another school year allows us the opportunity to help even more students pursue education in a way that best works for them in a stable and consistent learning environment,” said Kelly Simone, executive director of Indiana Connections Academy. “Our students are able to grow and thrive with the one-on-one attention Indiana Connections Academy provides to create an educational plan with supportive teachers and staff.”

According to the school’s 2022-2023 Parent Satisfaction Survey results, an annual third-party survey that provides families with the opportunity to review their experience with Indiana Connections Academy. According to the survey results:

  • 96 percent of parents say their child is satisfied learning at Connections Academy
  • 96 percent of parents say the program gives them greater opportunity to be more involved with their child’s education
  • 95 percent of parents agree the Connections Academy curriculum is high quality

For more than a decade, Indiana Connections Academy has served thousands of students with a variety of needs. Students complete rigorous school work in the comfort of their homes with virtual instruction and support from licensed teachers. Students develop a strong degree of intrinsic motivation and critical thinking while enrolled at Indiana Connections Academy.

Indiana Connections Academy offers many activities throughout the course of the year to help build community and relationships including numerous field trips, student government, National Honor Society, prom and an in-person graduation ceremony. Indiana Connections Academy also offers many course options for students, including core classes in math, science, language arts, and social studies; extensive electives including foreign languages, digital technology, and career technical courses, as well as honors and AP courses. The school also offers a broad assortment of online clubs, ranging from robotics and gaming to poetry and art.
