Micah Beckwith, Republican candidate for Indiana Lt. Governor, has challenged Congressman Greg Pence to enter the race for Lt. Governor on his own. Beckwith says he strongly believes that the Lt. Governor position should be chosen by the people, not one person.

“Delegates should be able to choose who should serve in the second highest level in office in our state government instead of just one person choosing,” Beckwith said. “That’s why today I am challenging Congressman Greg Pence to enter the race for Lt. Governor. If he wants to be Lt. Governor he should run and make his case to the delegates not look for an anointment.”

Beckwith said delegates should make a choice.

“I believe in the delegates. They are fully capable of making a choice in the race for Lt. Governor. Does Pence?” Beckwith asked. “We need leaders with courage in Indianapolis. Every day the liberal woke agenda is being forced upon us. That’s why it is so essential that we not only elect a strong governor, but also a strong Lt. Governor.”

Beckwith announced his candidacy in May. He has been visiting with delegates across the state for months.

“There should be no deals for the position of Lt. Governor,” Beckwith said.
