This week, Steve and Moffett Craig are opening the doors of Adrienes Flowers & Gifts, 1249 E. Conner St., Noblesville, to anyone and everyone who wants to help them celebrate 45 years in business. You can also plan ahead for the holidays and enjoy some local refreshments from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 through Saturday, Nov. 9.

The Reporter spoke to Steve Craig about the event itself and about the history of the business.

“My wife and I are the owners of the flower shop, but it came from her parents,” Craig said. “They had it for a few years, then they lost a designer because she was part of the family and got divorced, so they did it on their own for a while. I farmed and my wife taught at IUPUI for many years. I taught school prior to going back and pushing pigs, so, I decided to push a different fragrance – that would be flowers.”

Steve said once he and Moffett started running the business, it worked out very well for them.

“We’re both ‘people’ people, and we’ve been here all of our life in Noblesville,” Craig said. “You know, it’s been good across the board.”

To celebrate that good life and the community that they have served for decades, the Craigs are staying open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day. Customers and friends can expect refreshments, prizes, and discounts on purchases made now for the upcoming holidays.

“I hate to pass over fall, so we’ve got fall options,” Craig said. “We’ve got Christmas with different flavors – I call them flavors – different colors of trees. We have a lot of gifts and ornaments and trees and whatever it might be, and then also a chance to purchase your fresh arrangements early and get a discount for doing that.”

With discounts across the board, you can purchase arrangements that Adrienes will have delivered any time before the end of the year.

“They could be delivered anytime,” Craig said. “Thanksgiving or Christmas or both, whatever you want. The other part of the coin is a little bit of wine, a little bit of something to drink, and some cookies made by some local people. And then some gift items that go out the door.”

According to Craig, the last time Adrienes open house was before the COVID-19 pandemic.

If three long festive days sounds like a lot of work on the part of the Craigs and their staff, you’re not wrong.

“You put a lot of work into it, but it’s silly not to extend the hours,” Craig said. “Our church does a garage sale. It takes them all week long to put together and they have it for one day. I thought, ‘really?’ Different people have different schedules anymore. This gives us a chance to do some things, see people, meet and greet some of our friends and close associates. We decided we have three days full to do that, so that’s what we’re going to do.”

Stop by Adrienes Flowers & Gifts, 1249 E. Conner St., Noblesville, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 7, 8, and 9 to help Steve and Moffett Craig celebrate 45 years of serving the community they love. If you give them a chance, they will also make your holidays a little extra special.
