The Indiana State Clays Association (ISCA) will be holding the 2020 State Championship July 23 to 26 at Indiana Gun Club in Fishers.
This year’s title sponsor is Stifel Nicolaus Company. Drawing the top sporting clays shooters from Indiana and surrounding states, this year’s event is expected to draw 400 shooters, spectators, and vendors. Saturday evening July 22nd will feature the ISCA Annual Dinner followed by the always enjoyable Make-A-Break shoot offs under the lights at Indiana Gun Club.
The fastest growing gun sport in the country, sporting clays events offer a number of different events including: 5-Stand, Sub Gauge (20 gauge, 28 gauge and 401 gauge), FITASC (a European variation of the sport), culminating with the two-day State Championship event with 200 very challenging targets.
Sometimes described as “golfing with guns”, a round of sporting clays (usually consisting of 100 targets) is held on an open-air course over large land areas with targets presented at up to 15 different “stations” along the course, with each station offering an unique target presentation.
Fall Creek Sporting Clays is the event manager for this year’s championship, which will be its third state championship at Indiana Gun Club since 2016. Indiana Gun Club is located at 14926 E. 113th Street, Fishers, IN 46040.
